Education Event

This annual day-long program is designed to help us see the connection between our culture (the world we live in) and our spiritual journeys.

Sat, March 27, 9am – 3pm

Leader:  Dr. Bob Jewett

Does first-century Christianity have anything relevant to say to Christians today?  Dr. Bob Jewett, our guest lecturer at this year’s spring education event, makes the connections to contemporary culture in unexpected ways.  How do Christians today, wanting to live a servant lifestyle, respond in a global community, where militarism and imperialism seem to be the norm?

Jewett, a Biblical scholar and professor known for his work on the Apostle Paul, will give us fresh, exciting perspectives and insights to the texts.  The day will include morning and afternoon presentations by Dr. Jewett, based on his latest book project on the theme of American imperialism and the issue of occupying Afghanistan and Iraq.  There will be time for questions.
